The online Affect business review pages (namely Trustpilot and Money Saving Expert) are mostly positive. Affect complaints are here and there but these seem to be in the minority. It is worth remembering that Affect are a young company so there are not as many ratings available as there are with other providers.
Trustpilot Rating 9.6/10
Positive
Below are 5 positive Affect reviews from current and recent customers.
“A refreshing change
A refreshing change to be supplied by a company who communicates clearly, has competitive prices and cares about their customers, unlike all of the “big” ones, and more importantly, does not jack-up their renewal prices at the end of the contract.” Alan via Trustpilot.
“Great service
Great service, easy and straightforward. Polite and knowledgeable assistant.” Customer via Trustpilot.
“Always proactive…
Always proactive in providing the lowest tariff. Friendly – even though most communications are done via email. I’m regularly informed about usage and tariff.” Graham via Trustpilot.
Easy Switch “Signed up on 23rd June and switch went through yesterday. Meter reading showing correctly on their online portal and first DD payment went out this morning.
Welcome pack comes as a PDF shortly after sign-up then nothing heard from them until 6th July. I could log into their online portal immediately after sign up. I popped them a question by email and they responded same day.” Hazzanet via Money Saving Expert.
Simple, Clear Website “Just switched to Affect and it was completely painless. I did everything online and I really like their simple, clear website. I just wanted a straightforward monthly direct debit, dual fuel deal fixed for 12 months.” Chrissie via Money Saving Expert.
Negative
Below are 5 recent negative reviews from current and recent customers.
Usage Increase “As per our contract with them and the FAQ’s on their website, if our usage increased significantly during the winter months we would be informed and advised to increase our direct debit. This did not happen. It was only when we logged into the account 8 months in that we realised we were around £200 in debt to them, so we contacted them to increase the monthly payment.” Kerrie via Trustpilot.
“Fixed Rate Naivety I would’ve appreciated a closer monitored system that lets me know when I’m running up a debt while obliviously paying a direct debit thinking all is well.” Neil via Trustpilot.
Confusing “They don’t believe the meter readings! Their invoices are a mess of crossings-out and recalculations that it’ll take many hours for me to check through.” A b via Trustpilot.
No Smart Meter Option “They don’t offer smart meters at present” Craig via Money Saving Expert.
Unanswered Reading “I also found that the reading before last appeared to go unanswered and I didn’t get a statement email. Now I have had a rush of 3 statements. It looks as though they did an estimate last time and then had to correct it when I supplied the next readings. I haven’t had to ring them yet so can’t comment on that aspect.” Katego via Money Saving Expert.
