“Good Experience
I am coming to the end of my fixed tariff – I switched a week or so before they went bust last year. Unlike many reviewers here, I have had a great experience during the last year.
Co-Op Energy took over and I think they were more than fair to the GB Energy customers they took over and the staff – my heart says stay with GB Energy/Co-op, but my wallet says otherwise, as, unfortunately, the renewal prices are really not at all competitive. However, I would have no hesitation to switch back in the future if the tariffs were better.” KD Largs via Trustpilot.
“Truly excellent customer service!
Based on my own experience, I consider GB Energy to be well worthy of a 5 star rating for providing truly excellent customer service. The switchover was carried out in a quick, professional and trouble free manner. I have made a considerable saving and I would have no hesitation, whatsoever, of recommending them.” Kevin Parnaby via Trustpilot.

“Daylight robbery
Daylight robbery! went from paying 53.00 to be told my monthly bill is tripling! i got sent an email telling me the price was increasing by 40% but i never received it. customer service is shocking and spent over an hour on the phone to some idiot who couldn’t do his job very well. have now switched to a more transparent firm and am writing to co op energy with my complaint. disgusting service” Emma via Trustpilot.
“Horrendous customer service and complaint resolution process
Unfortunately it seems like my issues with GB / Coop are not unique.
They increased my direct debit from £23 to £71 with no notice. When questioned they provided a letter which they had apparently sent but I never received until after I questioned it. They also took the payment a full month prior to when their supposed letter said they would.
They have been completely unreasonable in resolving it and refuse to refund the difference despite admitting that it was a technical error that caused them to take it a month early.
Also when I questioned the increase they only had a 3 month window to base it on and when they offered me a summer/winter alternative it averaged out to £54. But I had to calculate this for them and point out their own flawed workings.” Sarah via Trustpilot.
